So here’s a few of the pictures from my trip. Taken with my Panasonic G1. One of these days, more pics will follow. Pictures!
So its been a year

And I am still terrible at doing updates. Really, it’s that I suck at the internet in general. My facebook is blank, I don’t really use social media sites at all, no forums anymore nothing.
So my goal for this year is to find a way to use this and the internet in general in a way that is consistent. To that end my trip pictures should be up on flikr soon, and thus here. After that, who knows?
Err……

Yeah, so would you believe I’ve been busy?
Me neither. Not entirely sure of the direction of this here website for the foreseeable future, but I have some ideas.
Maybe I’ll actually implement them too!
Day 20 : I can’t stop raining
by Matt on Jun.18, 2009, under Road Trip
So I got home at around 8:30. Rained like crazy for the last 200 miles. Trip post-mortem soon to come.
Day 19 : The Midwest strikes back
by Matt on Jun.17, 2009, under Road Trip
So when I created the title of this post I didn’t know how prophetic it would be. The area I spent most of the day driving through, Nebraska and Iowa, is completely covered by tornado warnings.
Not much other than that I stopped at the largest truckstop in the world and it is in fact huge.
Tonight in Elkhart, IN and tomorrow if it goes as planned home.
Days 17 & 18 : Wtfbbq
by Matt on Jun.16, 2009, under Road Trip
Man driving this much is tiring. 486 miles on Monday and more than 900 today. Yesterday ended in Mountain Home, ID and today ended in North Platte, NE. Not a whole lot to report other than I am fairly certain that as long as tomorrow goes well I should make it home by Thursday night. Being able to drive 80mph and not get pulled over makes the country go a lot faster that’s for sure.
Week 2 retrospective
by Matt on Jun.14, 2009, under Road Trip
So I have been a little bit of a slacker in getting the retrospective / weekend update completed. I am here to rectify this problem however.
So where do we begin? The highlight of the week, as far as national parks go the Grand Canyon was absolutely amazing. Easy to get to, not a massive amount of people and a killer view. The worst, by far, was yellowstone. Tons of people, took forever to get to anything of interest and even then it was impossible to see due to the crowds.
The driving was consistently good, except for I-90 through western Montana and Idaho. What an awful road.
For this week, my goal is to be home on Thursday but realistically mid day Friday. Currently I am getting my car serviced in Oregon before I head back east.
Updates this week will be a bit sparser as I am just making the drive back with no real planned stops. Well ok, I do want to get a steak in Omaha, but other than that no planned stops.
Day 14 : Oregon ho!
by Matt on Jun.12, 2009, under Road Trip
So today finished off the push to Dan’s. Approximately 6 hours and I am there. Not much other than that. Although the speed limit on the highway being 65 makes me sad.
Oh well, time to decompress then a week 2 retrospective.
Day 13 : Finally something cool
by Matt on Jun.11, 2009, under Road Trip
Once again starting with the bad news, Logan pass, a part of the road to the sun is closed till at the earliest 2 weeks from now. So no complete drive for me.
The good news, glacier national park is awesome. It has really cool lakes and huge mountains. Not to mention the part of the road I got to drive on was really cool. It is absolutely amazing and I really want to come back with more than just a few hours. I could definately spend at least a week here.
So now on to dans. I should probably let him know that I will be there sometime around noon tomorrow. There. Notified.
Pictures.
Day 12 : Parks!
by Matt on Jun.11, 2009, under Road Trip
I am running really late today so this will only be a brief summary. First the bad, the weather sucked and there were a ton of people. This resulted in me not really enjoying the experience at either Grand Teton or Yellowstone. Which is sad because I was looking forward to them.
The good, the sights at Yellowstone were cool and I got to see old faithful erupt. Also, the drive in Montana was really fun.
Gotta get going to glacier.
Pics up next.
